Box Office Update

This Batman blockbuster "The Dark Knight" topped the North American box office for the fourth week in a row, final figures showed Monday, with its record haul topping 441.6 million dollars. It is the first time since 2003's "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" that a film has led the box-office on for four consecutive weekends.
The ongoing success of "The Dark Knight" meant marijuana comedy "Pineapple Express" had to be content with second place in its opening weekend. The Seth Rogen-starring film about a pothead who witnesses a murder -- but leaves a bit of his identifiable stash at the scene, giving a lead to the bad guys -- earned 23.2 million for the period.
Another debuting film, chick-flick sequel "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2" was fourth with a 10.7 million dollar take. ... Read More ...

TAO Nightclub

Amber celebrated the release of her new movie Pineapple Express hosting TAO Nightclub inside the Venetian in Las Vegas. Check out the PHOTOS HERE n read bellow for some info on what was Amber's night at TAO.
    
Friday night at TAO Las Vegas saw Pineapple Express actress Amber Heard hosting the Las Vegas hotspot. Amber arrived with a group of female friends, which included her sister Whitney. Amber looked beautiful wearing a stunning black belted dress and looked at ease posing for photos on the red carpet.
After posing for photos on the red carpet, Amber and the group headed to dinner inside TAO Asian Bistro where they dined on assorted sushi, Chilean sea bass and Buddha chicken. During dinner the ladies were drinking champagne and toasting to the night.
After dinner was complete, TAO surprised Amber with a Giant Fortune Cookie dessert platter that she was excited to receive. After dessert, the group headed up to the dance floor VIP area where they all danced to the sounds of DJ Berrie, reports TheVegasEye.com.

Amber Heard, William Hurt to star in ‘The River Why’

William Hurt and Amber Heard have boarded Matt Leutwyler’s upcoming coming-of-age drama “The River Why,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Based on David James Duncan’s 1983 Sierra Club novel, the movie focuses on Gus Orviston (played by Zach Gilford), a young man who embarks on a quest to find an elusive steelhead trout. In fact, his search for the fish is a metaphor for his search for self-knowledge.
Hurt plays Gus’ father, while Heard jumps into the role of his love interest, an adventurous fly-fisher. Leutwyker is directing an adaptation by Thomas A. Cohen and John Jay Osborn Jr.

High times at the 'Pineapple Express' presentation

The funniest event at Comic-Con? With apologies to Kevin Smith, I'd wager it was the Pineapple Express panel — which boasted producer Judd Apatow, director David Gordon Green, cowriter Evan Goldberg, plus stars Seth Rogen (pictured, left), James Franco (pictured, right), Danny McBride, and Amber Heard. But it was truly the Seth and Judd potty-mouth show.
The proceedings started with clips of a few hysterical scenes — one, in which Rogen demonstrates impressive inhaling techniques on a "cross" joint — from the stoner-action flick. ("We felt personally close to the material," quipped Rogen, before chastising the enraptured ladies for hooting only when Franco spoke: "F--- you. You didn't do that when I started talking.")
Then they got down to business with the funny. Asked if Heard or Franco was the better kisser, Rogen turned to his old Freaks and Geeks costar and reasoned, "You're the better kisser because you're a man and know a man's anatomy. He's got home-field advantage." As for the wacky tobaccy the cast smoked on set? That was a fake-out substance called "wizard smoke" (an apropos name for the Comic-Con crowd). On a proposed Rogen–Franco–Jason Segel collaboration, Rogen cracked: "If we both have to show our d---s, I'm out." And, naturally, someone asked Rogen if he knew where to score weed. Comedy smokin' in 'Pineapple Express'

Seth Rogen does many of his own stunts in the pot-action comedy Pineapple Express. But there's one that always elicits an impressed gasp from the audience, regardless of their affinity for weed.

Amber's New Projects

Amber is currently filming horror movie "The Stepfather", where she stars opposite Gossip Girl star Penn Badgley.
She also has 2 more films to be released this year. "The Informers" where she stars as Christie is due out on October 30th 2008 for Halloween, while you'll be able to catch her a bit sooner in "The Pineapple Express" opposite James Franco, this August.
